Twee scholengroepen smelten samen.

Volgend schooljaar zullen de scholen van de vzw Priester Daens College met de scholen van de vzw Scholengroep Dirk Martens samensmelten tot de Priester Daens Scholengroep. Een bestuurlijke fusie die de administratieve taken van de directies moet ontlasten.

Om het bestuur zo optimaal mogelijk te organiseren zullen de vzw Scholengroep Dirk Martens en de vzw Priester Daens College vanaf 1 september fuseren tot de nieuwe Priester Daens Scholengroep. “Met respect voor de pedagogische eigenheid van elke school”, duiden Joost De Groote en Luc Moens, voorzitters van de vzw’s. “De herkenbaarheid van de individuele school en de band met de lokale gemeenschap moeten behouden blijven, ook bij een nieuw bestuur.” 

Volledige schoolloopbaan

De scholen van de Priester Daens Scholengroepen zijn gevestigd in Aalst, Nieuwerkerken, Hofstade, Aaigem, Erembodegem en Mere. Door de fusie kunnen de scholen hun boekhouding en logistiek centraliseren, wat de directies van administratieve taken ontlast.

Tanja Biebaut, toekomstig algemeen directeur van de Priester Daens Scholengroep, is blij met de fusie. “We hebben alles in huis om kinderen en jongeren met diverse talenten te begeleiden in hun schoolloopbaan”, aldus de toekomstige directeur.

“Vanaf de start van hun loopbaan kunnen alle leerlingen een plaats vinden bij de Priester Daens Scholengroep. Binnen deze scholengroep heeft men de keuze uit verschillende basisscholen, verspreid over het grondgebied van de stad Aalst en de ruime omgeving. Ook binnen het secundair onderwijs wordt een breed spectrum van mogelijkheden aangeboden.”

De bestuurlijke fusie gaat in op 1 september.
